A Note from Satya Kama Creator, Shadi Ramey
In the Summer of 2014 I was inspired to create a body cream that was good enough to eat to share with friends and family. Little did I know that I was going to stumble upon on amazing idea: a skin cream good enough to eat with infinite possibilities. I have been sharing my Satya Kama Cream with friends and family and used their feedback to perfect the smell, texture and ingredients used in our creams. It took 2 ½ years to perfect the recipe, which has resulted in a moisturizing body cream that has an amazing luxurious texture, delightful scent and excellent moisturizing capability.
Satya Kama is one of the most important things I have ever done. Our principles are rooted in love and integrity. I look at food and nourishment as a form of love. As a chef, I am used to examining food labels and am shocked by the ingredients found in everyday skin care and personal use items. Our original cream includes five ingredients that are vegan edible. While our skin creams are not intended to eat (of course!), they are good enough to eat. They’re skin food. Feed your skin the best food everyday and see how amazing it feels!
Shadi is delighted to combine her experience in plant medicine, recipe creation and sustainable product development to create a line of vegan, edible moisturizing body creams. Satya Kama Cream – explore the possibilities.
Satya Kama Cream was born in the Spring of 2017 and was first introduced to the public at the NOCO Hemp Expo, where it was met with amazing feedback that inspired this article in Westword Magazine.
As a mother I am driven by the need to give my kids the very best food and skin care possible. These foods should be organic and Non-GMO as a standard. We have the power of plant medicine and our plant allies are key in skin care. Our skin deserves to be nourished with ingredients that are good enough to eat and made with the best ingredients available. Satya Kama strives to thrive, sourcing the best organic ingredients, honoring the farmers and producers of our raw materials in a way that is beyond sustainable.
I am thrilled to be working on solidifying our B Corp status. I went to Nepal in 2000 to evaluate the sustainability of ecotourism and study the applied principles of sustainable economic development. We will be making all of our business decisions using B Corp principles as our foundation. Our path will be guided by integrity, creativity and joy.
